As I gathered my things, a wave of sadness washed over me. I couldn’t fathom tying a bandana in his mouth. Who could do that to anyone, let alone someone they loved? I would do anything to have my parents back, to tell them all the things I just assumed they had heard enough. The “I love yous,” the “thank yous.” Do we ever say those phrases enough?
