“When I create works of art, I do it because it is part of me and I must create. But afterward, when the work is done, I hope that it’ll speak to people, that it’ll open up their hearts or their minds. That cannot happen if the art is buried for safekeeping.”

Review: Ocean Light by Nalini Singh

Image
Ocean Light just released a couple of weeks ago — a new installment in one of my favorite series, set in one of my favorite paranormal worlds, and written by one of my favorite authors, Nalini Singh. So I somehow found time to read it, in spite of my schedule, and I wanted to let you know how I liked it.

Goodreads Synopsis Security specialist Bowen Knight has come back from the dead. But there's a ticking time bomb in his head: a chip implanted to block telepathic interference that could fail at any moment — taking his brain along with it. With no time to waste, he should be back on land helping the Human Alliance. Instead, he's at the bottom of the ocean, consumed with an enigmatic changeling...

Kaia Luna may have traded in science for being a chef, but she won't hide the facts of Bo's condition from him or herself. She's suffered too much loss in her life to fall prey to the dangerous charm of a human who is a dead man walking. And she carries a devastating se…

“I love you,” he said, his eyes locked with hers. “From the roots of my hair to the tips of my toes. From yesterday to tomorrow and every tomorrow we will ever see. From this moment to the mystery beyond death. Every part of you, slow or fast, small or big, strong or weak. I love you, Holly.” - Nalini Singh, Archangel's Viper

“What about you, pretty boy? You gonna stand there and let your girlfriend do all the work?"

"What?" Watch my seriously hot woman put you on your fat ass and look sexy while she's doing it? Oh, yeah, I'm definitely game for that.”

ARC Review: Rock Wedding by Nalini Singh

Image
As you know, we love Nalini Singh around here; some of us love her Guild Hunter series and Psy-changeling is the perfect cup of tea for others. Me, I've been falling deeper and deeper in love with her Rock Kiss series as I've followed from the very first book, Rock Addiction, which I told you about here. I also told you about the last release, Rock Redemption, here, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Of course, when I saw that the final member of Schoolboy Choir was getting his HEA soon and that Rock Wedding was available on NetGalley, I requested that baby right away. I didn't remember anything about Sarah from the previous books, and didn't know Abe very well, but it was a Rock Kiss book, so I was pretty sure it was going to be a great rock-and-roll romance. I was so right, but Rock Wedding turned out to be more.

Come with me through the jump and I'll tell you why I loved Rock Wedding and why you need to devour this series if you haven't been keeping up all along. Sp…

I almost let the best thing that ever happened to me to slip away because I was hung up on ideas of what I 'should' want. Sometimes there is no 'should', there is only one chance to grab on to happiness. Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh

Blog Tour and ARC Review: Rock Redemption by Nalini Singh

Kit Devigny could have loved rock guitarist Noah St. John. Their friendshipburned with the promise of intense passion and searing tenderness...until the night Noah deliberately shattered her heart.

Noah knows he destroyed something precious the night he chose to betray Kit, but he’d rather she hate him than learn his darkest secret. All he has left is his music. It’s his saving grace, but it doesn’t silence the voices that keep him up at night. Chasing oblivion through endless one night stands, he earns a few hours’ sleep and his bad boy reputation.

When a media error sees Noah and Kit dubbed the new “it” couple, Kit discovers her chance at the role of a lifetime hinges on riding the media wave. Wanting—needing—to give Kit this, even if he can’t give her everything, Noah agrees to play the adoring boyfriend. Only the illusion is suddenly too real, too painful, too beautiful...and it may be too late for the redemption of Noah St. John.We are fans of Nalini Singh around these parts, h…

"Oh, Clay darling, if you had told me you were feeling irritated because of your...problems, I wouldn't
have made a fuss." She knew very well the changelings around her could hear every whispered word.

"Tally." It was a warning growl.

"I mean it must be embarrassing for you...being that you're such a big man." her tone implied all sorts of things. "Last night was an aberration, I'm sure. And if not, there are always the pills.

...he rose to his feet and, placing his hands on the table, leaned toward her until she could've reached out and run her fingers along his freshly shaven jaw. "You are here," he said in a tone that made her heart thump wildly against her ribs, "because you belong to me."

“Dear Ms. Baird,

As of today, you do have a slave clause in your contract. It means you do everything I say. Under no circumstances are you to eat, sleep, take breaks, or check in to hotel rooms with men named Eggplant.

Sincerely, Gabriel”

Review: Archangel's Shadows (Guild Hunter #7) by Nalini Singh

Image
From Goodreads:
In the wake of a brutal war, the archangel Raphael and his hunter consort, Elena, are dealing with the treacherously shifting tides of archangelic politics and the people of a battered but not broken city. The last thing their city needs is more death, especially a death that bears the eerie signature of an insane enemy archangel who cannot—should not—be walking the streets.

This hunt must be undertaken with stealth and without alerting their people. It must be handled by those who can become shadows themselves…

Ash is a gifted tracker and a woman cursed with the ability to sense the secrets of anyone she touches. But there’s one man she knows all too well without a single instant of skin contact: Janvier, the dangerously sexy Cajun vampire who has fascinated and infuriated her for years. Now, as they track down a merciless killer, their cat-and-mouse game of flirtation and provocation has turned into a profound one of the heart. And this time, it is Ash’s secret, dark an…

Say you have a friend and she's constantly gushing over a book and she's trying to get you to read it. Let's say you are not like me who avoids those books like the plague just because someone else recommended them. No, you decide to read the book. 1.Run away never looking back?

2.Decide to be brave and take on this daunting task?

3.Say you'll wait for the TV show?
