Quote of the Day

I will find you, he whispered in my ear. I promise. If I must endure two hundred years of purgatory, two hundred years without you - then that is my punishment, which I have earned for my crimes. For I have lied, and killed, and stolen; betrayed and broken trust. But there is the one thing that shall lie in the balance. When I shall stand before God, I shall have one thing to say, to weigh against the rest.
His voice dropped, nearly to a whisper, and his arms tightened around me.
Lord, ye gave me a rare woman, and God! I loved her well.

  1. OhEmGee. I am crying like a little baby over this quote, and I have not even read the books! This is a bad sign...or a very good one.

  2. This is so beautiful! I'm not crying, like some weepers above (shut up <3), but I was close.

    1. LOL, this didn't make me cry either, Olga. But other things in these books did. And I am not a weeper in general, when it comes to books. Not many authors can make me cry. (Movies, on the other hand....) Really, Jamie says and does the most amazing things! He makes me swoon, and I'm not a swooner in general either.

  3. I've only read the first few Outlander books (why I haven't kept going, I have no idea) but when I started reading this, I KNEW it was Jamie saying this without having to read to the end of the quote. I LOVE Jamie!

    1. Yay!!! The only down side to finding another Jamie fan is realizing how many other people I must share him with. How many books did you read? The first four made a nice set, and I know several people who took a break there, then went back for the rest after they caught up on the bazillion things they’d let slide while they had their nose in a book!

    2. I did read up till Drums of Autumn. The 2nd book was the breaking point of getting my Kindle, my wrist hurt so bad after reading the giant thing, I complained and logically reasoned enough that hubby got it for me. And I think I just took a break (because they do take some time to get through) and forgot to go back. Getting distracted with other series. I am putting them back at the top of the reading list. I still have to finish Guild Hunter and Wicked Lovers then Outlander, then Psy-Changling, then.... ;)
