Wild Things Blog Tour and Interview with Master Sullivan

Today is the day, dear readers! You can get your hands on the brand new ninth installment in the fabulous Chicagoland Vampires series. Head Wench Barb reviewed it here, and loved it. And we'll be talking about it again next week, since there are some rather important developments we need to discuss.

Since Merit was turned into a vampire, and the protector of Chicago’s Cadogan House, it’s been a
wild ride. She and Master vampire Ethan Sullivan have helped make Cadogan’s vampires the strongest in North America, and forged ties with paranormal folk of all breeds and creeds, living or dead…or both.
But now those alliances are about to be tested. A strange and twisted magic has ripped through the North American Central Pack, and Merit’s closest friends are caught in the crosshairs. Gabriel Keene, the Pack Apex, looks to Merit and Ethan for help. But who—or what—could possibly be powerful enough to out-magic a shifter?
Merit is about to go toe to toe, and cold steel to cold heart, to find out.
But today, we have quite a treat, since Ethan Sullivan, Master of Cadogan House has stopped by the blog to answer some of our burning questions! (Yes, we are all aflutter, too!) He also dropped off some Chicagoland Vampires swag to giveaway, so click through to check our our interview with Ethan *fanself* and to enter the contest.

Thank you so much for joining us today! We're honored that you could take time out of your busy schedule to speak with us. So we'll get right to it...

You've obviously done so much in your very long existence. After all these years, is there still a place you wish you could go or an experience you wish you could have that you haven't had before?
I've never climbed Everest. I'm not certain I'd particularly enjoy the experience, but it seems like the type of conquest a man should make.

What are the perks of being the Master of Cadogan? And cons?
Perk: Best parking spot. Con: The weight of responsibility of caring for three hundred vampires.

Any author, past or present, whose brain you would like to pick? Who would you like to write your autobiography?
Walt Whitman. He understood leadership and heroism.

If a movie was to be made about Cadogan's wonderful history (and present) who would you want to play you?
*Arched Eyebrow* Can't I do it?

You must have met so many great people in your lifetime. Who is someone you wish you could have met/meet?
I passed Napoleon once, but didn't have an opportunity to speak with him. I believe that would have been a very unique discussion.

If things start to calm down in Chicago (and we hope they will!) given the opportunity of getting a weekend off, just you and Merit, where would you take her and what would you do?
*Grin* Everywhere. I would show her the world.

How do you choose Initiates to Cadogan House? What special qualities do you look for?
Inherent skills, loyalty, and the reason they're interested in becoming vampires. Vampirism is not a way to hide from human problems.

Name three things that you just cannot do without.
A good suit. A good watch. A good Sentinel.

Do you own an IPod? A few favorites from your playlist? And maybe something we would be surprised is in your playlist? (We promise we won't tell!)
I do not, although I'm partial to the classics. Beethoven, particularly, was a genius.

A period of time (century, decade) that you loved being a part of? And one that you hated.
War is both a thrilling and horrible time, and always has been.

We love Merit and want to be BFFs with her, but we'd like to know, what exactly made you realize Merit was special and attracted you to her?
*Faraway look* She is one of the most human vampires I've met in my very long existence. And she has the capacity to be one of the most vampiric. She is a contradiction and, on occasion, a royal pain in my neck, no pun intended. But she is mine. *Shrugs* That's all there is to say.

What is food that Merit introduced you too that you would NEVER admit to loving?
She has a preference for foods that combined several food groups--pizza with multitudinous toppings, Dagwood-style sandwiches, odd Midwestern casseroles. They aren't all horrible. But that's as much as I'm willing to say.

How has something as monumental as dying and coming back to life changed you and how you approach life?
I believe it has reminded me that life is fragile, even when one is immortal. Eternity or not, a man must appreciate his treasures.

We get a little breathless whenever you say 'be still'. Where did you pick up that habit?
*Sly smile* Breathless, hmm?

Lightning Round:

Star Wars or Star Trek? MSNBC
Cats or Dogs? Dogs
Favorite color? *Arched eyebrow* Is this an interview or an application?
Mac or PC? Mac. I prefer the styling
Coke or Pepsi? Glenmorangie
Coffee or tea? Tea. Earl Grey, preferably
Favorite book? The Art of War
Favorite movie? The Maltese Falcon
Beach or mountains? Either, as long as the sun is down.

Thank you for allowing me to speak with you today. You've been most gracious hostesses.
Thank you for sharing a little of your busy day with us. It's been a pleasure.

We managed to keep it together during the interview,
but Ethan often reduces us to swooning messes.
