Blood Games Blog Tour and Chloe Neill Mini-Interview

Release day dance!
Happy release day, Saucy Readers! The tenth installment in Wench favorite series, Chicagoland Vampires hits shelves and e-readers today, and we honored to be a stop on Chloe Neill's blog tour celebrating this fantabulous book! You can check out Barb's non spoliery review of Blood Games here, and in a few weeks look for Zee and Barb's very spoilery discussion of all the delicious details.

While Merit didn’t choose to become a vampire or Sentinel of Cadogan House, she vowed to fight for her House and its Master, and she’s managed to forge strong alliances with powerful supernaturals across Chicago. But even though Merit has had wild adventures, this may be her deadliest yet…. A killer is stalking Chicago, preying on humans and leaving his victims with magical souvenirs. The CPD hasn’t been able to track the assailant, and as the body count rises, the city is running out of options. Vampires and humans aren’t on great terms, but murder makes for strange bedfellows. Can Merit find the killer before she becomes a target?

Today, Chloe Neill made a brief stop by our Saucy abode to answer a few of our questions, and she also dropped off some swag, so be sure and enter below! But first, the interview!

I'm curious about the gravity of sharing blood. When Merit is dating Morgan she offers him a bottle a blood and he's taken aback by the offer, even though to Merit it's like drinking a bottle of water. Then, when Merit joins the RG Ethan seems especially livid about the fact that the ceremony included blood, even though there was no sharing involved. Consequently, Ethan forbids Merit from sharing blood with anyone. So, what's the deal with the blood sharing, particularly Morgan's reaction?

Ethan is not offended by the premise of her drinking blood, but by the idea of Merit sharing blood with other men. It's a very personal act. That's also the basis for Morgan's reaction. To him, and I'd suspect others in Navarre, sharing blood (or at least the way Merit proposed it in that scene) seemed a very personal offer to him. Navarre vampires are weird. :D

You've been an incredibly busy woman for several years now, writing amazing books for us, and we're grateful. When you slow down a bit and can squeeze in some vacation time, where would your dream trip be?

Aw, thanks!! I'll be turning 40 next year (and rocking it!), and I'd really, really love go to Scotland. If we stay closer to home, I'd love to spend a week at Yellowstone or Yosemite, taking in nature and quiet. :)

Your new series, Devil's Isle, will be debuting next year. Tell us about it.

A CN book set in NOLA? We're there!
It will! I'm about to start writing it, and I'm really excited. The books are set in New Orleans seven years after a giant supernatural battle, in which magical creatures escaped from the Veil, which separates the magic and human worlds. Supernatural creatures now live in Devil's Isle, a district near New Orleans' French Quarter. Claire Connolly has been hiding her magic, but when that secret becomes suddenly public, she has to rely on Liam Quinn to help her navigate NOLA's supernatural landscape. And, of course, the Veil was never as secure as humans believed.

Are there any plans in the works for spin-off novels and/or series with Chicagoland characters? Or set in the same world?

Not planned at this time, but I'm certainly open to the idea. I will be releasing an Ethan and Merit novella, entitled LUCKY BREAK, in February 2015. Anything beyond that really depends on sales. :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to talk with us. And Happy Release Day! We're sure Chicagoland fans are going to love this book as much as we did!
