Blood Games Blog Tour and Chloe Neill Mini-Interview
Release day dance! |
While Merit didn’t choose to become a vampire or Sentinel of Cadogan House, she vowed to fight for her House and its Master, and she’s managed to forge strong alliances with powerful supernaturals across Chicago. But even though Merit has had wild adventures, this may be her deadliest yet…. A killer is stalking Chicago, preying on humans and leaving his victims with magical souvenirs. The CPD hasn’t been able to track the assailant, and as the body count rises, the city is running out of options. Vampires and humans aren’t on great terms, but murder makes for strange bedfellows. Can Merit find the killer before she becomes a target?

Today, Chloe Neill made a brief stop by our Saucy abode to answer a few of our questions, and she also dropped off some swag, so be sure and enter below! But first, the interview!
I'm curious about the gravity of sharing blood. When Merit is dating Morgan she offers him a bottle a blood and he's taken aback by the offer, even though to Merit it's like drinking a bottle of water. Then, when Merit joins the RG Ethan seems especially livid about the fact that the ceremony included blood, even though there was no sharing involved. Consequently, Ethan forbids Merit from sharing blood with anyone. So, what's the deal with the blood sharing, particularly Morgan's reaction?
Ethan is not offended by the premise of her drinking blood, but by the idea of Merit sharing blood with other men. It's a very personal act. That's also the basis for Morgan's reaction. To him, and I'd suspect others in Navarre, sharing blood (or at least the way Merit proposed it in that scene) seemed a very personal offer to him. Navarre vampires are weird. :D
You've been an incredibly busy woman for several years now, writing amazing books for us, and we're grateful. When you slow down a bit and can squeeze in some vacation time, where would your dream trip be?
Aw, thanks!! I'll be turning 40 next year (and rocking it!), and I'd really, really love go to Scotland. If we stay closer to home, I'd love to spend a week at Yellowstone or Yosemite, taking in nature and quiet. :)
Your new series, Devil's Isle, will be debuting next year. Tell us about it.
A CN book set in NOLA? We're there! |
Are there any plans in the works for spin-off novels and/or series with Chicagoland characters? Or set in the same world?
Not planned at this time, but I'm certainly open to the idea. I will be releasing an Ethan and Merit novella, entitled LUCKY BREAK, in February 2015. Anything beyond that really depends on sales. :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to talk with us. And Happy Release Day! We're sure Chicagoland fans are going to love this book as much as we did!

Jeff Christopher is my favorite non Methan character! Love this series!!
ReplyDeleteI would have to say Gabriel is one of my favorites. He is an openly caring guy and it shows in all of his dealings, even when he has to be hard ass.
ReplyDeleteTeam Jonah!
ReplyDeleteGabriel is my favorite non-Methan character.
ReplyDeleteAll the wenches know I'm team Jonah.
ReplyDeleteI adore Jonah. And Gabriel. And Jeff.
ReplyDeleteI have just started this series and am on book 2, Friday Night Bites - LOOOOOVING IT! And so thrilled I have quite a few books to go before catching up to Blood Games. I have to admit I love Catcher so far (aside from Ethan and Morgan.) :-)
ReplyDeleteJonah
ReplyDeleteI just love, LOVE this series!
ReplyDeleteJeff! is my favorite non-Methan character! He is freaking adorable and I love him to death! I just love his personality and how much of a geek he is. I also love that he's fierce when needed. He's perfect.
I say Catcher...i do love him, and his gruffness.
ReplyDeleteI love Gabriel's character... and I am still dying of curiosity to see what his prophecy meant regarding Merit.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Jeff!
ReplyDeleteGabrie. Cheryl Ll
ReplyDeleteLove Gabriel! Actually I love all the characters
ReplyDeleteThere are a bunch of great characters in this series. Lindsay's character is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteNot even a contest: Jonah. (Though Chuck is also pretty awesome. ;-))
ReplyDeleteI like a lot of the characters but I must say Jeff is my favorite outside of Methan. He seems very unassuming but kicks but when needed.
ReplyDeleteFavorite non-Methan character would have to be Luc. But Catcher and Jeff run a close second. Luc's movie quotes are just so enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteDon't have a fav
ReplyDeleteI <3 Lindsay...mistakes and all.
