Quote of the Day

I was moving at blur-speed. I could tell because all the faces around me — pale, moonlit, on the verge of surprise — were smeared like a wet oil painting that'd met the wrong end of a drunken stagger. Not that I'd done that in more years than I could count — either paint, or fall into a fresh canvas after one too many shots of Jack — but it's one of those mental images that's slow to fade.
