What the Wenches are Reading

It's beginning to look a lot like Summer for most of the Wenches, so some of us have time for reading, while some of us can't seem to squeeze it in. It's really a mixed bag of reading choices this week, from epic sagas, to Wench favorites Ty and Zane, to the incomparable Vlad. Click through to see what's keeping us busy this week. Then tell us your choices in the comments below!

Amanda: I am still reading A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin, about 55% along right now. Not surprising given how long it is. The best part is that I'm still loving it! I love Tyrion, Jon, Ned, Littlefinger, Daenerys, and Catelyn. I hate Jaime, Cersei, and Viserys. And Lysa? You are cray, girl!

Anne: I finished Inferno (review to come) and I went back to my beloved Ty & Zane. This week I breezed through Divide & Conquer, Armed & Dangerous, and the ficlet Dine & Dash. I'm reveling in Stars & Stripes. That one might be my very favorite. I'm taking my time with it before the heartache to come.

Angela: This week I read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I really enjoyed it. I'm not much of a YA fan, but this caught my interest.

Barbara: I reread Once Burned, and fell in love with Jeaniene Frost all over again. I also fell head-over-heels in love with Leila for the first time, and with Vlad a little more. I immediately moved on to Twice Tempted, and will have finished it by the time you read this! I am kicking myself for not doing this sooner, especially since I met Ms. Frost on release day! Once Burned is great, but Twice Tempted is absolutely fantastic! She gave me things in this book that I never dared hope for. Leila is SUCH a great heroine, and Vlad, the ultimate anti-hero, pushes all of my hero buttons. Bravo, Ms. Frost. Bravo!

Donna: I didn't have any reading time this week. I have many books in my TBR pile, so I have lots to choose from when I get a chance to park my butt in a nice, comfy chair.

Kat: I read Iced twice in the past two weeks. And it has made me miss my Barrons. So guess where I'm headed? Yup. Dublin. I'll be there for a couple weeks. See y'all soon!

Kathi: Finished Inferno, then watched seasons 2 and 3 of Downton Abbey. I know this is a television show, but watching Downton Abbey makes me feel like I’ve immersed myself in a classic period novel.

Merit: Finished books 2 and 3 of the Sunwalker Saga by Shea MacLeod, Kissed by Fire and Kissed by Smoke. Easy, fun reading. Liked the second book more than the first, the third less than the second, but over all enjoyed it.

Natalie:  This coming week will be a continuation of the first book in the Outlander series. I’m about 100 pages in and I find many aspects of the story interesting. Even with my enjoyment of what I’m reading, I am having difficulty with getting the story to move quickly for me. So I’m going to keep plugging at it along with job hunting, as I’m still waiting on word from my last interview. Here is to a new week and a new adventure!

Veronica: I just started Magic Mansion by Jordan Castillo Price. I'm only one chapter in, but so far it's very different from anything I've read. There's a magician, an older guy, who maybe has some sort of "ability." He's a bit over the hill in terms of the magic world (seriously, I see Supernatural references EVERYWHERE), and I think Magic Mansion is a reality show his agent is trying to get him to do. I don't know, I feel like I've never been so intrigued by a book I feel like I know almost nothing about...
