"So. I mean, really, is he the best you can do?" he asked again, teasing. Ty rolled his eyes and took his time drinking a few swigs of beer. "I love him," he finally answered, giving it to him straight. He looked at Nick and nodded, lips pressed tightly together. "Seriously?" Nick asked in honest surprise. "Like, with-the-heart love or with-the-dick love?" Ty snorted. "To be honest, it's a little of both." Divide & Conquer by Abigail Roux and Madeline Urban

"You saying you're...what, he's working black ops with you now?" Kelly asked. Ty came up short. "How do you know about that?" "Know about what?" Kelly countered with an innocuous blink. Divide & Conquer by Abigail Roux and Madeline Urban

"Are you two seriously discussing shooting people?" Deuce asked, appalled by the nonchalance. Ty turned his head to look at his brother with a frown. "Is that bad?" he asked with complete sincerity. Deuce looked to Zane, who had the same expression on his face. "Yeah," Deuce concluded. "It is, Ty." Zane shrugged helplessly, though he didn't look particularly remorseful either. McCoy looked at him with true regret and sighed heavily. "You're management now, Garrett. There's no going back. And you can't have your....your boyfriend working under you." Ty opened his mouth, and McCoy held up his hand. "If you make a joke, I'll shoot you." "Yes, sir," Ty grumbled, slumping further into his chair. Ball & Chain by Abigail Roux

Ty would much rather run down a guy and tackle him into the Inner Harbor than have to sit and fill out forms. He'd ruined that suit, but it had been a hell of a good day. Divide & Conquer by Abigail Roux and Madeline Urban

"Everything’s settled down?” Ty asked as he ducked under the table.  “That depends. The CIA currently has in its custody two FBI agents and one Boston police detective who is demanding they pay for the damage to his boat.”  “He’s okay?”  Burns nodded. “Emptied a double-barreled shotgun at a couple of Company lackeys, and then they arrested him. He spent all night claiming he thought they were the Men in Black coming to scan his brain.” Armed & Dangerous by Abigail Roux

More than a day after being cooped up with Sidewinder, Zane sat with his hands over his eyes, listening to them argue over dinner. Dinner! They argued over everything!   “Shut up!” he finally hollered.   Everyone froze, staring at him in shock.   “Pizza,” Zane grunted, pointing at Owen. “Order it. Just cheese. Now.”   The silence lasted a few more seconds. Then without a word, Owen shrugged and took out his phone to search for a pizza place, and the others all dispersed to go do whatever the hell Sidewinder did when they weren’t trying to kill each other. How the hell had these men all lived in one house for years?   Ty patted Zane on the shoulder as he passed by, giving him a wink. Zane had to just roll his eyes. No fucking wonder the Marines had ousted these yahoos. Crash & Burn by Abigail Roux

"I love you, Kelly.”     Kelly took a deep breath and sighed it out slowly, kissing Nick’s chest, eyes drifting shut as Nick held him close. After a few seconds he realized that Nick was holding his breath and his heart was racing. He raised his head to meet Nick’s eyes, searching for a hint as to why.     Nick was silent, letting him look.     “What’s wrong?” Kelly asked.     Nick shook his head, smiling sadly.     “What?” When Nick spoke, his voice had gone hoarse. “It’s just . . . someday I hope you’ll say it back again." Just hit me with the dick talk, I can take it,” Owen groaned.   “You can take the dick?” Kelly deadpanned.   Owen stared at the camera, and Kelly fought hard not to grin. He finally lost and snorted, unable to pull a straight face to match Owen’s. Part & Parcel by Abigail Roux

He wedged his face between Zane's and the pillow. "This in no way means I don't still hate you," he muttered as he nuzzled his nose and mouth against Zane's temple and closed his eyes. Cut & Run by Madeline Urban and Abigail Roux

"Holy God,” he muttered. He looked to the side, out the floor to ceiling windows. “Oh Jesus, is that the Empire State Building?”     Ty stood and trudged over to stand beside him, wavering as he blinked at the window. “Are we stateside?”     “Are we alive?” Owen countered. “I don’t feel alive.”     Nick slid out of the bed and shuffled to the window, his shoulder bumping into Kelly’s as they both looked down at the streets of New York City far below.     “Are you freaking out?” Nick asked Kelly under his breath.     “Yes! Join me!” Part & Parcel by Abigail Roux

"Didn't expect when they put you on a leash it would be to a damn anchor, did you?" he asked testily. "I was expecting an anvil with a little pink slip attached," Ty admitted. "Call me Wile E. Coyote." Cut & Run  by  Madeleine Urban  and Abigail Roux

Nick was notoriously twitchy about commitment. He'd probably disappear into a puff of smoke that spelled out "nope" in the air if Kelly told him he'd proposed while drugged. Cross & Crown by Abigail Roux

The land wavered with heat, even as the sun descended. Summer evenings in Texas were apparently blazing hot right up until the sun went down, when they became merely uncomfortably warm. Stars & Stripes by Abigail Roux

Digger was a little different. All you had to do was promise him the chance to maim something or set it on fire, and he was yours for the weekend. Part & Parcel by Abigail Roux Source

Quote of the Day

"This is the softest pillow I've ever had," Digger said. "That's my ass, man," Eli told him, voice muffled like he had his face in the mattress. "You sleep sideways." "I don't care, this is nice." Part & Parcel by Abigail Roux

Quote of the Day

Kelly pulled Nick’s hand to his chest, clutching it as he laid his head on the mattress beside him. Ty sat in a chair on the other side of the bed, sliding his own abused fingers into Nick’s just to make sure Nick knew not to fucking let go. Digger and Owen drew closer, setting up around the bed. They had a lot of time. They could wait for him to wake. Crash & Burn by Abigail Roux Source

Becky whistled and began to laugh. “He’s pretty.” Zane clucked his tongue, mentally echoing her. The man welcomed them to a night of debauchery and decadence, and almost immediately he began to pick people out of the crowd and insult them. Zane was surprised at first, but the packed audience was eating it up. The man turned his attention on them with an appreciative whistle. “Well hello, beautiful,” he said in a deep voice as he took a few steps toward their table. “Where have you been all my life? Where are you from, gorgeous?” Becky laughed and sat forward. “Austin, Texas.” “Yeah, wait your turn, honey, I’m talking to your boyfriend.” Becky cackled and covered her mouth with her hands, looking at Zane as the audience laughed. When he spoke again, he lowered his voice even further. “This may seem hypocritical, but there are a few things I just didn’t want you to know about me.” He pulled his scuffed Glock out of his waistband, checked the clip, and held it at the ready.     “Is this really the right time for this conversation?” Ty asked with a raised eyebrow.     Zane winced. “I just need you to know . . . I . . . I hate baseball.”     “You shut your whore mouth!”     Crash & Burn by Abigail Roux Source

“I realized the one thing Fell’s Point didn't really have,” Ty said, his voice sincere and hopeful, “was a bookstore.”  Zane’s stomach flipped. He loved old book stores. Loved the smell of them, loved to walk through them, loved sitting in them and reading in a ratty old chair. Ty had known that from the beginning, from the day in New York City when he’d gamely followed Zane into a bookstore and sat there as Zane browsed.     Ty’s lips twitched. “And we could sell black market orchids from the back.”   Zane’s breath left him. He was standing in the middle of the craphole building Ty had bought him, and suddenly he could see what Ty was truly proposing. A life where neither of them carried a gun. A life where Zane could sit in a bookstore all day, could know that Ty would be there when he went home, right upstairs. A life for them, together. A future. Ty wanted them to cut and run.  Zane thought he had experienced love before. Thought he had k...
